QUOTE #2
Legend has it that about the year 1050, Lady Godiva rode naked through the streets of Coventry, in the West Midlands of England, in order to persuade her husband to remit his oppressive taxation of the city’s poor. The townspeople obeyed the order to stay inside their homes, doors closed and shutters down, so as not to observe her nakedness. However, one tailor could not contain his sexual curiosity and drilled a hole in his shutter in order to watch Lady Godiva pass by. According to the legend, the wrath of heaven punished Tom the tailor for this crime by blinding him.
